Digital Radiography
At Ridgefield Animal Hospital, we have the ability to take full body digital radiographs as well as specific dental digital radiographs. Digital radiography is painless, safe, and non-invasive. We routinely use these to visualize the heart, lungs, abdominal organs, bones, limbs and spine. The dental unit is used in conjunction with probing to determine the health of each individual tooth.
Digital radiography provides clear images of the area of concern quickly and without having numerous retakes which means accurate and efficient patient assessments. It also uses very low doses of radiation making it safe enough for pregnant females and young pets.
Digital radiography differs from traditional x-rays in that images can be visually enhanced, magnified, and digitally shared with specialists, if needed, to help us speed and focus treatment plans for your pets.
